Initially, I wanted to study medicine to help people and connect with them. Life threw some curve balls, and I studied Biokinetics instead. During my 3rd and 4th year at university, I found my passion in working with people with disabilities (special populations) and those living with chronic conditions. Working with these population groups, it is so important to build a connection and trust in order to make a success of the rehabilitation process. Seeing as that is what I always wanted, I know that I have found the right path for myself.
I completed my BSc (HONS) in Biokinetics in 2020 at Stellenbosch University. Afterwards, I went to Ceres to complete my internship year (2021). There I worked with various clients from different life stages and circumstances. During my internship, I also decided to further my studies, completing my Master’s in Science (Sport Science), specializing in biomechanics and individuals with lower limb amputation. At the end of 2022, I completed my MSc, graduating cum laude.
